When visiting Opa (my father in law) at his camp site, we always rely on the playground for a little energy release.
Very rustic! Has that wooden handmade feel to it.
3 big swings, 2 baby swings and a bunch of monkey bars. 3 slides. A big dug out sandbox w toys. And a volley ball net. Lots and lots of green space.
Bathroom is located in community hall area.
Today we noticed termites in the wood. And for that I give it a 4.
100 Playgrounds
Over the next few months I will be taking my children to 100 different playgrounds in the Rochester and the surrounding area. I will be grading them on toddler-friendliness, accessibility, special features and overall fun! I am open to suggestions of where to visit next so feel free to comment!

39 Toy Library at Lincoln branch library
Yeah yeah yeah. I know it not technically a playground. But one visit will show you how much fun a kid can have here!
There are all sorts of toys here for the playing... And for the borrowing. That's right! With your Monroe County library card you can borrow toys! Anything here except the large playhouses and bicycles can be borrowed for 3 weeks.
There are outside toys, physical toys, games, puzzles, dress up, building, trucks, dolls and more. So much more.
I love the educational section-great for a homeschooling family (we ourselves are taking the plunge into homeschooling). There is even a section of special need toys.
Right now the librarian is processing a "backpack for learning" section-actual backpacks packed according to subject matter. I'm really excited about that! They look really neat!
My only complaint would be the hours are awful (for me anyway! Right smack in the middle of the day) parking is absolutely awful as well. And parents dump their kids to toy room and the.y go up front.

38 of 100. School 50
Tucked way behind the school you'll see the playground. Full on sunshine. Garbage and graffiti everywhere. And some broken equipment. Disappointing.
6 swings on 2 sets of swing sets. 3 climbing structures. Since its an elementary school it was perfect for my 4 and 6 yr olds. No mulch either. The foamy rubber ground.
My 4 year old dubbed this the "best playground ever" but I think it's because she found some money on one of the jungle gyms. She's a glass half full kind of girl!
I'll give this one a 5 out of 10.
Street parking. Zero shade. Zero benches. Garbage and broken equipment.

37 Penfield rec center
2 riding toys. 4 kid swings. 2 baby swings. Tiny jungle gym. Tons of grass. And... Thats it!
Plus side: huge parking lot. Right next to library. Lot of green space.
Very toddler friendly.
I'll give it a 6 :)

36 wickham farm - penfield
Come for the bounce pillow and animals- stay for the ice cream!
Wickham farm has batting cages, miniature golf, petting zoo, bounce pillow and a small play set (the kind you'd have at home).
Obviously what the kids want to do is go on the bounce pillow. Expensive admission but worth it to see my husband jump w our girls! Adults are free w child. I paid $9 for our 2 girls o play.
While they jumped I walked around w our son. He enjoyed the animals very much-particularly the goats.
Inside there is a little country store. Lots of homemade goodies.
Autumn is the best time to come- pumpkins galore!
I'd rate this an 8. The bounce pillow is awesome. Animals and other activities are fun too. Plus- ice cream!

35 Linear Park (penfield)
right off of penfield road you'll find linear park. Mostly consisting of green space and trails: it is nestled in the woods along Irondequoit creek.
The playground has just one jungle gym and one baby swing. But we spend most of our time hiking here so it's ok!
Plenty of tables, benches, grills and covered pavilions. Lots of picnic space!
Plus: bathrooms!!!
Counting the park as part of total experience I'll give this an 8. Not toddler friendly. Bring your bug spray!!!!!!

34. Abraham Lincoln Park
Located on Empire Blvd, Abraham Lincoln park is a relatively new park. It has 2 jungle gyms, balance beams, see saw and 2 covered picnic areas. But the best thing is what is just past the playground: the log area!!!
Unlike other playgrounds, this one has an area of connected logs. Fully shaded and beautiful- this is a child's dream come true. Our girls have made up many an adventure here. There are also walking/hiking paths. I always see a lot of people w dogs too.
I'd give this one a 9. Point taken away for no swings. Plenty of things for all ages to do and enjoy!!!
